Oops! LG Accidentally Unveils G4 Smartphone

LG is supposed to be unveiling its upcoming flagship smartphone, the G4, on April 28th. However, the South Korean tech company inadvertently published images and details about the device on a “hidden” page. If you’re eager to learn more about the LG G4 and don’t want to wait until the 28th, keep reading for the latest scoop.
Smartphone news leaker Evan Blass discovered a page on LG’s official website, featuring the company’s upcoming smartphone. While the page has since been taken down, we found some pretty surprising details about the G4. As you can see from the photo to the right, the G4 will be available in several different color/style variants, including leather. This is one of the first high-end smartphones with a leather shell casing, so we’re interested to see how consumers will respond to it.
In terms of size, the LG G4 will boast an impressive 5.5-inch Quad HD display. That’s the same display size as its predecessor, the G3. But don’t let that fool you into thinking these two devices are the same. While they may appear similar in size and shape, there are some major differences between the G4 and G3 that shouldn’t go unnoticed. Before the page was taken down, the photos of the G4 revealed a camera with a f/1.8 lens. While we still don’t know the megapixel size of the camera, the fact that it has such a powerful lens is a huge plus when compared to the G3. If you’re a photo-savvy smartphone user, you’re sure to appreciate the G4’s camera.
According to the folks at Engadget, the LG G4 will also feature a 3,000mAh battery and a MicroSD card slot for expansion. Unfortunately, we still don’t know much about the technical details of LG’s upcoming flagship handset. The page revealed several photos of the G4, but it rehashed the specs from the G3. Does this mean the G4 will utilize the same components as its predecessors? Not necessarily, as it was probably used as placeholder until the specs were made official. It’s a super nice phone
The placement of the buttons on the back of the phone confused me the first time I picked up the previous LG Gx phone. It’s actually a good idea with a 5.5inch or larger screen.
